System administrators can set hard limits on how many messages can be sent from a domain. Once the limit is reached, SmarterMail will automatically take the action specified in the message throttling action.
Applies to SmarterMail 9.x - 15.x
- Log into SmarterMail as the system administrator.
- Click the Domains icon.
- Select the desired domain in the navigation pane.
- Click Edit in the content pane toolbar. The domain settings will load in a new window.
- Click the Throttling tab.
- In the Outgoing Messages per Hour field, type the number of messages that can be sent from the domain within an hour timeframe.
- In the Message Throttling Action field, select the appropriate action that SmarterMail should take when the outgoing messages limit is reached.
- Click Save.
Applies to SmarterMail 8.x
- Log into SmarterMail as the system administrator.
- Click the Manage icon.
- Click All Domains in the navigation pane. A list of domains on the server will load in the content pane.
- Select the desired domain and click Edit in the content pane toolbar. The domain settings will load in a new window.
- Click the Throttling tab.
- In the Outgoing Messages per Hour field, type the number of messages that can be sent from the domain within an hour timeframe.
- In the Message Throttling Action field, select the appropriate action that SmarterMail should take when the outgong messages limit is reached.
- Click Save.
