The file storage feature allows users to store files on the SmarterMail server. These files can be made public or password protected so other users (even non-SmarterMail users) can download them when needed and is very useful for sending large attachments without causing the spool to slow.
NOTE: Files stored count toward the user's disk space. If a file exceeds the disk space size limit the user will be unable to upload the file.

Configuring File Storage
Follow these steps to enable file storage for all domains on the server:
- Log in to SmarterMail as a system administrator.
- Click the Domains icon.
- Select the desired domain and click Edit in the content pane toolbar. The domain settings will load in a popup window.
- Click the Features tab.
- Select the File Storage checkbox.
- Click Save.
In addition, system administrators can specify the maximum size for uploaded files by following these steps:
- Click the Settings icon.
- Expand the Storage folder.
- Click File Storage in the navigation pane.
- Click the Options tab.
- In the Max File Size field, type the max size uploaded files can be and then select the Enabled checkbox.
- If you would like to specify any file types that cannot be uploaded, you may do so on the Extension Blacklist tab.
- Click Save.
Uploading a File
Follow these steps to add a file to the storage:
- Log in to SmarterMail as a user.
- Click the File Storage icon.
- Click Upload in the content pane toolbar.
- Browse to the file and click Open.
- A status bar will display at the bottom of the screen and will disappear after the file has been uploaded.
- After the file has been uploaded, it will display in the content pane. Select the file and click Edit in the content pane toolbar.
- Select the Enable public access checkbox if this file needs to be shared with other people.
- Click Save.
